In Virginia, there currently is a lack of mandated coordination or coordinated operational protocols among parties involved in, or responsible for, managing the Commonwealth’s wildlife. This makes it difficult for municipalities, individuals, and organizations to obtain consistent, reliable information on regulations, best management practices and/or techniques to manage problematic species. To help resolve this challenge, The Center strives to:
- Be the agent to schedule and organize meetings among all human-wildlife conflict management organizations to discuss day-to-day field operations
- Be the agent to foster dialogue among all human-wildlife conflict management organizations to discuss ways to complement or enhance the effectiveness of all practitioners while reducing duplication of effort and costs.
- Prepare formal, periodic updates to keep partners, cooperators, and agency personnel informed of activities and current information regarding human-wildlife conflict in Virginia.
